2024 Fantasy Outlook
A sixth-round pick in 2023, Evans suited up for 10 games as a rookie but made very little impact. The Ole Miss product has the tools to be a lead back, combining good size and speed with a plus burst and a knack for plowing through contact, but injuries, ball security issues and a general lack of football IQ hurt his draft stock. He's still a developmental project for the Rams, and the team's offseason additions to the RB depth chart, including third-round pick Blake Corum, suggest Evans isn't expected to make the leap in 2024. Ineffective in limited action
Evans finished the 2023 regular season with nine rush attempts for 19 yards.
ANALYSIS
Despite the abundance of running backs that went through the Rams' roster over the course of the season -- Cam Akers, Kyren Williams, Ronnie Rivers, Royce Freeman, Darrell Henderson, Myles Gaskin, and Evans all logged playing time in 2023 for the Rams -- Evans managed to hold his roster spot despite performing inadequately when called upon. Head coach Sean McVay clearly sees potential in the rookie by keeping him on the active roster despite his lackluster performance, but with Williams returning as a three-down workhorse and Rivers likely back as an exclusive-rights free agent, Evans will be the third option at running back next season if the Rams don't make any additions to the roster, and the fourth if they bring back Freeman for a second campaign.

To compete with 2-3 other RBs
Coach Sean McVay said Friday that the Rams will dress at least three of Evans, Royce Freeman, Darrell Henderson or Myles Gaskin for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Evans was the only healthy running back left on the Rams' 53-man roster following a Week 6 win over the Cardinals that saw Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers pick up an ankle and knee injury, respectively. Los Angeles has added three other options to the mix, though, as the team signed Freeman from its practice squad and Gaskin off Minnesota's practice squad in addition to signing Henderson to the practice squad spot vacated by Freeman. While Evans may still wind up seeing the majority of touches, the presence of two more veterans could cut into the rookie sixth-round draft pick's Week 7 workload substantially.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Although he was three picks away from falling to the seventh round of this year's draft, Evans is a former blue-chip recruit who consistently produced at TCU and Mississippi. He was outdone by Kendre Miller at TCU and Quinshon Judkins at Mississippi, but there's no shame in getting outplayed by two potential NFL standouts. Evans' career rushing stats (1,999 yards and 18 touchdowns at 6.9 YPC) were consistently efficient on modest volume, which should make him a good off-the-bench runner in the NFL, at worst. His athletic testing was mediocre, with his 4.51 pro day 40 at 5-11, 208, indicating size-adjusted speed below starter quality, so his ceiling might be that of a good backup. But he is the Rams' best pure runner after Cam Akers, which puts him in the mix for touches.
