2024 Fantasy Outlook
Pierce has averaged 554 yards and two touchdowns in his two years with the Colts. In each year, the quarterback play has been questionable. In his career, the receiver has been frequently used as a deep threat. That’s a role that Pierce could retain in 2024. However, the team drafted Adonai Mitchell, and if the rookie has a solid training camp, it may be a formality that Mitchell takes over the starting role and relegates Pierce to No. 4 receiver duties. If Pierce somehow holds onto the starting role and Anthony Richardson stays healthy, Pierce has the potential to build on his early-career numbers. Ultimately, it would seem that Mitchell will win the starting role at some point. As a result, Pierce may not be in position to see regular targets. Read Past Outlooks

Sitting out practice
Pierce (foot) is not practicing Thursday, the final day of mandatory minicamp, as a precautionary measure, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierce hasn't practice this week after his foot was stepped on in a previous practice, but it doesn't appear that there's any worry about his status for training camp. The 2022 second-round pick is competing with rookie second-rounder Adonai Mitchell for No. 3 receiver reps behind Michael Pittman (knee) and Josh Downs, so missing any amount of time could portent a hit to Pierce's stock. In two seasons with the Colts, Pierce has averaged a mediocre 554 yards and two touchdowns, but he could've been held back by questionable quarterback play.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to slide down depth chart
Pierce is competing for a starting role against rookie second-round pick Adonai Mitchell, who impressed in practice Tuesday by catching two red-zone touchdowns, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Michael Pittman is the Colts' top wide receiver, and Josh Downs is likely to start as well coming off a 771-yard rookie season. Pierce recorded 593 receiving yards as a rookie in 2022 and 514 in his second NFL campaign last season. If Mitchell can build off his strong start at camp, Pierce is likely to be the odd man out in three-receiver sets.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Pierce started 12 of his 16 games as a second-round rookie last year and accounted for nearly as many deep targets (15) as every other Colts wideout combined (18). He caught seven of those for 243 yards and a TD, demonstrating his 4.41 speed at times, but managed only 350 yards on his 63 targets within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage. And while he'll soon play with strong-armed rookie Anthony Richardson -- possibly Week 1 -- it's unclear if Richardson has the accuracy or Pierce the route-running skills to turn it into a potent connection. The 6-3 wideout at least is in good position to retain a perimeter starting role across from Michael Pittman, as third-round rookie Josh Downs and free-agent signing Isaiah McKenzie mostly figure to compete for slot snaps.
