Gaio qualified for the second round of the Australian Open Qualifiers after being awarded a walkover on Wednesday.

ANALYSIS
Gaio booked his place in the next round, courtesy of a walkout. The 31-year-old lost the first set with a score of 4-6 but levelled the match after winning the second with a score of 6-4. In the third set, Gaio was leading with a score of 3-2 when the game was called off. Next up for him will be Jakub Mensik.
