The Golden Eagles voided Conley's contract last week after he opted out of the 2021 season due to the worsening coronavirus situation in Japan, Jim Allen of JBallAllen.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Following a five-year run in MLB with the Miami Marlins, Conley opted to continue his career overseas this winter, when he signed a one-year contract with the Golden Eagles. Conley has since agreed to a minor-league contract with MLB's Tampa Bay Rays.
