Inconsistent ways continue
HeavyweightUFC
June 3, 2023
Grishin lost to Philipe Lins via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC on ESPN 46 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a small -125 favorite, Grishin struggled to generate consistent offense throughout the course of the bout. He was credited with a 103-50 edge in total strikes landed, but trailed Lins by a 45-41 count in those deemed "significant". Toss in the fact Grishin allowed the Brazilian to rack up 8:24 worth of control time, and this result was never in doubt. The very definition of roster depth, the 39-year-old Russian has alternated losses and wins in each of his first five UFC bouts.
