Could see power-play minutes
Orlov might be in line to run the top power-play unit against Florida on Friday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.
ANALYSIS
Orlov's spot with the No. 1 power play hinges on whether Brett Pesce, who is a game-time call with a lower-body injury, plays. If Pesce is back in action, Tony DeAngelo is expected to serve as a healthy scratch which would see Orlov elevated to the top power play. Even without a role on the man advantage, Orlov has been producing offensively with one goal, three assists and seven shots in his last five contests.

Orlov had his best season to date a year ago, finishing with a career-best 12 goals and 35 points in 76 games. Orlov added 127 shots on goal, 124 hits, and 94 blocks, in addition to finishing as a plus player (plus-25) for a seventh straight year. As a top-four defender who plays in all situations, Orlov has a ton of value to the Capitals, but his fantasy value is forever limited due to the presence of John Carlson, who is the unquestioned quarterback of the Washington power play. That leaves Orlov fighting for scraps on the second unit. There's still enough production here for late-round fantasy value, but something would have to happen to Carlson in order for Orlov to really pop off.
