SLATE PREVIEW

Cole Caufield couldn't help the Canadiens win, who scored just one goal in a loss. They'll be looking to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole in the series against the Maple Leafs (7:30 p.m. EDT), whose top stars are all performing well, and Jack Campbell has been as good as he was during the season.

The home team has won every game in the Predators-Hurricanes series and Game 5 (8 p.m.) moves back to Carolina. Juuse Saros has been brilliant and one of the big reasons why the Preds are still in the series. The Canes are a perfect 6-0 at home against the Preds this season, including both the regular season and the playoffs.

GOALIES

Alex Nedeljkovic, CAR vs. NSH ($8,400): The two double-overtime games in Nashville could've gone either way, and Nedeljkovic has done his job keeping the Canes in it making 88 saves in those two games. It's been a lot closer than expected, but it does seem like home ice is making a difference in this series.

Jack Campbell, TOR at MON ($8,100): It's a very good sign the Leafs can win low-scoring games, showing an ability to play different styles. Campbell's been excellent all series, allowing just four goals in three games. The Habs are having trouble generating offense and after inserting Caufield into the lineup, they don't have many cards left in the deck to play.

VALUE PLAYS

Joe Thornton, TOR at MON ($3,500): The Leafs power play is generating chances but they're not capitalizing, and the idea is that sooner or later they should be able to break through. Thornton's playing on the fourth line but there's a lot of value added as one of the primary playmakers on the top power play. The Leafs have scored just two power play goals in 14 chances so far against a Habs PK that ranked 23rd during the season.

Cole Caufield, MON vs. TOR ($3,500): Caufield's absence in Games 1 and 2 was a head scratcher, and in Game 3 he managed to get three shots on goal – second-most among Habs forwards – even though he didn't register a point. He has shown good chemistry with Nick Suzuki and there's added value playing on PP2.

Calle Jarnkrok, NSH at CAR ($3,400): Jarnkrok's play in Games 3 and 4 was much better, and in Game 4 he notched an assist with three shots. His offensive production continues to be minimal, but he's a useful player and lots regular minutes on the power play. The Preds split up their talent on two relatively balanced units, but Jarnkrok plays on the one with their best forward, Filip Forsberg.

LINE STACKS

Hurricanes vs. Predators

Sebastian Aho (C - $8,000), Andrei Svechnikov (W - $7,100), Teuvo Teravainen (W - $5,700)

Based on Natural Stat Trick's numbers, Aho and Svechnikov are underperforming their xGF numbers even though they're generating tons of shot attempts and scoring chances. Aho and Svechnikov have registered 23 and 21 shots, respectively.

DEFENSEMEN

Dougie Hamilton, CAR vs. NSH ($6,400): Hamilton continues to be an analytics darling but has very little to show for it with just one power-play assist on 23 shots. Few defensemen generate the same amount of offense night in and night out.

Morgan Rielly, TOR at MON($5,600): Toronto's top defender now has a point in each of the three games and he's off to a productive start after a so-so regular season. Rasmus Sandin may have replaced him on the top power-play unit, but Rielly leads all Toronto defensemen with 23:03 TOI/GP.

Brett Pesce, CAR vs. NSH ($4,400): Pesce's a great value play because he's soaked up a lot of the minutes in Jaccob Slavin's absence, who is a game-time decision Tuesday. Pesce leads all Carolina defensemen with four points and 32:17 TOI/GP, playing in all situations.
