I'll be honest, it's been hard to play Call of Duty DFS right now. Yes, if you want to equate getting doxed off the Internet to someone getting injured in a given traditional sports tournament slate, it's probably a similar sort of heartbreak. But when the destruction of one player's Internet can cause such a cataclysmic fall of the stats of everyone, especially when the player has zero control in the matter, it's just disheartening.

We press on, but I hope it's something that can be addressed immediately. It's clear the Call of Duty supervisors either don't care or don't know how to solve the issue, and it's entirely reasonable considering the difficult COVID-19-related online situation. Something still needs to happen though, and I wouldn't be surprised if once again the players must band together to save what's supposed to be the most important tournament of the entire year.

Thankfully we're going to get the best action we've seen (crossing fingers) out of the CWL Playoffs to date, with three different teams who could have laid claim to top-4 status throughout portions of the year, and also Toronto Ultra, who certainly seem to be on a heater right now.

While the Subliners did win their series against the Rokkr on Thursday, it wasn't a particularly pretty performance as just one player posted a KD higher than 1.05 in the Round 1 Hardpoint win on Rammaza and had their DK scores essentially bailed out by an elongated Round 4 Hackney Hardpoint. The Search looked especially bad which gives me some major concerns against the Huntsmen, who appeared to turnaround their season-long struggles in the mode over the last couple of tournaments.

The clash of styles is the glitter of hope that this series will go at least four games as the Huntsmen prefer to play a bit more methodical, always hunting for the proper rotation and essentially working off Prestinni opening a rotational door or Arcitys/FormaL simply bludgeoning a path into place. The issue with that style is there isn't a singular fantasy star from that group as smart playing ultimately leads the team to a given victory. The Subliners can play any number of ways, particularly with the emergence of Accuracy in this new meta, but the heart of the team is still built around aggressive SMG slaying to which Chicago has few consistent options for stopping. I just don't see there being enough engagements to rival the second game from Friday unless this series goes five games.

Prediction: CHI 3-1

CHI Players to Target: Arcitys ($7,800)

NYS Players to Target: MackMelts ($9,400), Attach ($7,600), Accuracy ($7,200)

TOR vs. FLA

The Call of Duty fan in me is incredibly excited for this contest as I could see this being one of the best matches in the Call of Duty World League to date. 

All the credit in the world goes to Cammy, Methodz and CleanX for turning around a season that looked to be dead in the water three months ago. For a team that seemed hellbent on gunning people from different rotation points led solely by Methodz, to what we saw Thursday where the Ultra posted the most engagements-per-match during the Call of Duty Championships to date, is a wild accomplishment and one that could completely change the outcome of this series.

Who wins or loses this series will depend solely on the likes of Havok who struggled mightily in each of the last two tournaments. If Havok can put together the pre-London Home Series sort of production, the Mutineers should easily walk away with this one which gives plenty of fantasy utility to Owakening, Fero and Skyz. If he can't, however, Frosty will be expected to somehow stop the onslaught of Classic and CleanX, who each dominated portions of their series Thursday.

I'm fairly certain the top scorer for Thursday's slate will come from this game, I just don't know who it will be. Any of the aforementioned Mutineers trio could be capable of the honor, but the same could be said for Cammy, Methodz or even Classic, particularly with how the latter played Thursday. From a tournament perspective, I'm a bit intrigued by a TOR/NYS stack which figures to be the lowest rostered of the four groups. Especially with the way Internet issues have dictated the outcome of the tournament to date, it might be the best chance at vaulting to the top, even if it means fading a number of the highest-priced players Friday.

Prediction: FLA 3-1
