2023 Fantasy Outlook
If McCaskill can return to his 2021 form prior to his ACL injury, he’s bound to figure into Colorado’s rushing attack. In his freshman season, McCaskill rushed for 961 yards and 16 touchdowns with Houston, but the ACL tear stopped his college career short. The Cougars grabbed Virginia running back Tony Mathis from the transfer portal, forcing McCaskill to seek greener pastures. His production with Colorado is far from certain, however. Coach Deion Sanders’ running back room is crowded, with Alex Fontenot and Anthony Hankerson returning to the team. McCaskill’s overall health and fall camp success will determine his impact. McCaskill is entering the transfer portal, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McCaskill transferred from Houston to Colorado in an attempt to bounce back from a 2022 season he sat out with a knee injury. Instead, it affected him throughout most of 2023, a year he ended up redshirting. Looking to erase the stigma of his injury-affected 2023, McCaskill will consider transferring colleges again just before the 2024 NCAA season.
