Oscar da Silva

CenterC
Signs pro deal
CStanford
March 24, 2021
Da Silva has inked a pro contract in Germany to play out the remainder of 2020-21 before preparing for the 2021 NBA Draft, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
It was nearly a foregone conclusion that da Silva would move on from Stanford following the 2020-21 season, but his professional deal in Germany puts any doubt to rest. As a senior, da Silva compiled 18.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 56.9 percent from the field and 79.1 percent from the free-throw line. He hasn't managed to replicate (or come anywhere close) his freshman success rate from beyond the arc -- 55.8 percent -- and shouldn't be expected to, but he may need to shoot better than the 31.1 percent clip he converted at as a senior to find a spot at the next level, especially given his 6-foot-9 frame.
