Robert Christopher Franks Jr. was born in 1996 in Seattle to Robert Franks Sr. and Shannon Palmer. He grew up in Vancouver, Washington and went to Evergreen High School. Franks earned varsity letters and served as team captain for the last three seasons. He was also named Associated Press All-State honorable mention in the final two years and averaged 19 points and eight rebounds as a junior. Following that successful campaign, Franks committed to Washington State University. You can follow him on Twitter @RoBo_22 and on Instagram @_robo22. Franks was named to the 2018-19 All-Pac 12 first team during his senior year at Washington State. The Vancouver, Washington native was also chosen the 2017-18 Pac-12 Most Improved Player during his junior season. In his senior year, Franks led the Pac-12 in points per game (21.6) and free throw percentage (.848). He was second in points (583) in the Pac-12 and second in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.399). The forward was fourth in the Pac-12 in 2018-19 in three-point field goals (75) and field goal percentage (.493). Franks was not selected in the 2019 NBA Draft. He signed a contract with the Charlotte Hornets during the summer of 2019.
