Suffers ankle syndesmosis injury
DRichmond Tigers
Ankle
June 29, 2021
Balta suffered an ankle syndesmosis injury and will miss multiple weeks, his club confirmed Monday.
ANALYSIS
Balta is fortunate not to have torn his ACL, as was initially feared. He hasn't scored more than 86 points in a single game, so his absence may not make as much a difference in fantasy.

DRichmond Tigers
Knee
June 25, 2021
Coach Damien Hardwick said said it's feared Balta suffered a torn ACL during the Round 15 loss to St. Kilda, Jon Ralph of the Herald Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
He suffered the injury late in the third period Friday when his right leg got caught underneath him. Assuming the injury is confirmed, Balta is poised to miss the rest of the season.
Apparent serious knee injury
DRichmond Tigers
Knee
June 25, 2021
Balta suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury in RIchmond's 62-22 loss to St. Kilda at MCG, The Australian reports.
ANALYSIS
Balta suffered the injury after having his right leg caught underneath him during a Josh Battle tackle late in the third period of Friday's match. No word yet on the seriousness of the injury, but the fact the 21 year-old was able to jog - albeit, gingerly - off the field is hopefully a good sign.
Signs two-year contract extension
DRichmond Tigers
March 30, 2021
Balta extended his contract with Richmond through the 2023 season.
ANALYSIS
Balta is still a young player with room to grow but he has yet to provide much for fantasy with 24 marks and nine disposals through two Rounds in 2021. This contract renewal is likely more down to his role in winning the flag last season over Geelong.
Offers little in victory Saturday
DRichmond Tigers
August 22, 2020
Balta contributed nine disposals (seven kicks, two handballs) and three marks in Saturday's 73-61 victory over Essendon.
ANALYSIS
Balta's quiet season continues for the Tigers, having now recorded double-digit disposals only four times thus far. Outside of one strong performance against the Bulldogs, Balta has not been a fantasy contributor at all.
