Out with foot injury
DBrisbane Lions
Foot
April 8, 2021
Payne suffered a stress injury in his foot and is expected to miss six weeks, according to Michael Whiting of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Payne doesn't get enough time on the footy to have great value for fantasy, but he's still taken 15 marks through the first three rounds of the season. With Darcy Gardiner returning shortly, Payne's absence shouldn't be too detrimental for now.
Late call up Saturday
DBrisbane Lions
October 17, 2020
Payne was a late inclusion for the Lions on Saturday, replacing Darcy Gardiner who was ruled out with a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Payne will play just the fifth game of his career as the Lions look to advance to their first Grand Final since 2004. Yet to establish himself as a regular part of the Lions rotation, this will undoubtedly be the biggest game of his life. Based on his season numbers, the Lions will simply be hoping he can hold his own against what can be a potent Geelong forward line.
