Managed for Round 16
MSydney Swans
Coach's Decision
July 2, 2021
Rowbottom has been managed for Round 16 against West Coast.
ANALYSIS
Rowbottom only seems to have been replaced in order for Nick Blakey to return to the lineup as an interchange. Season averages of 17.9 disposals and 8.1 makes per game make for decent value in a good team.

Rowbottom (knee) is expected to be available for the Swans in their Round 6 match Friday with the Suns, Martin Pagan of AFL.com.au reports.
ANALYSIS
Rowbottom has been idle since sustained the knee injury in Round 1, but he took a significant step forward by playing in a scratch match last week. He looked good during his time on the field in a 26-point win over the Greater Western Sydney reserves, gathering 23 touches and laying seven tackles.
Withheld from Round 5 lineup
MSydney Swans
Knee
April 16, 2021
Rowbottom (knee) will not return to the lineup for Round 5.
ANALYSIS
Rowbottom was considered a candidate to make it back this round but will instead suit up for the VFL side to get some run under his belt before making his return to the AFL squad. Next week seems like a logical target for his inclusion in the AFL lineup.

Head coach John Longmire mentioned Thursday that Rowbottom (knee) has a real chance to play in Round 5 against Giants, Sam Landsberger of the Herald Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Rowbottom hasn't played since injuring his knee in Round 1 against Brisbane but there appears to be some optimism that he will be able to return next week as the Swans travel to face GWS on April 17.
Still out for Round 4
MSydney Swans
Knee
April 7, 2021
Rowbottom (knee) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's Essendon clash.
ANALYSIS
Rowbottom posted a solid stat line in the opener versus Brisbane but hasn't managed to make it back to the field since then due to a lingering knee issue. He will miss at least one more AFL contest while recovering, though the fact that he was a test for the tilt likely suggests a return is on the horizon.
Test for Round 4
MSydney Swans
Knee
April 6, 2021
Rowbottom (knee) will be a test for Round 4 against Essendon, according to coach John Longmire.
ANALYSIS
Rowbottom has only played in Round 1 this season, but he put up solid numbers with 22 disposals and 8 tackles. If he's fit enough to play, there could be plenty of value from Rowbottom as he fits into an in-form team.
