Finlayson won't play "in the coming weeks" as he stayed home to be with his pregnant partner instead of traveling with the club to Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Finlayson will miss Round 21 against Geelong and likely more games after that as he awaits the birth of his child. He's scored 22 goals in 12 games this season, including a five-goal effort against Carlton in June.

Game-high five majors v. Blues
FGreater Western Sydney Giants
June 20, 2021
Finlayson acquired 13 disposals, 10 marks and two tackles to go along with five majors Saturday as GWS defeated Carlton 102-066 at Giants Stadium.
ANALYSIS
Finlayson netted season-highs for both marks and tackles and led all players in majors with a personal-best tying five on Saturday. The 25 year-old has now recorded at least one goal in each of his last five appearances, leaving him currently sporting a 2.22 per game average, 19th-best in the AFL. Unfortunately, the Giants' forward hasn't produced the type of numbers in other statistical categories that translate the former into fantasy success. Yes, the 102 points he collected versus Carlton represented his best fantasy output of the year, but still finds Finlayson averaging just 60.4 points an outing in 2021, 125th-best among all league players at his position..
Collects seven disposals in loss
FGreater Western Sydney Giants
June 15, 2020
Finlayson scored one goal and logged seven disposals (six kicks, one handball) in addition to making four tackles during Sunday's 80-60 loss to North Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Finlayson is getting amongst the goals, but his disposal tally limits his ceiling from being anything but a consistently average option. With the season shortened, he'll have to work hard to overcome a potential pattern in his game.
