Bags 40 disposals in win
MAdelaide Crows
August 22, 2021
Laird recorded 40 disposals (14 kick, 26 handballs) and made eight tackles during Sunday's 98-54 win over North Melbourne in Round 23.
ANALYSIS
Laird was exceptionally consistent throughout 2021 but a lack of goalscoring effort meant most of his hard work went unrewarded. Should things improve on that front in 2022, Laird should have no issues being one of the top midfielders in the league.

Logs 31 disposals in loss
MAdelaide Crows
August 7, 2021
Laird scored two behinds to go with 21 disposals (nine kicks, 22 handballs) and made eight tackles during Saturday's 55-51 loss to Port Adelaide in Round 21.
ANALYSIS
Laird was a key figure in the Showdown but if he'd turned those behinds into majors he may have won the contest on his own. He's scored over 100 fantasy points in nine straight weeks, though his numbers look even better when he's able to balance out his handballs with a few more kicks.
Solid in loss
MAdelaide Crows
July 31, 2021
Laird logged 25 disposals (10 kicks, 15 handballs) and made 10 tackles during Saturday's 105-56 loss to the Western Bulldogs in Round 20.
ANALYSIS
Laird took back the mantle as the Crows' best weapon as he led their midfielders during a tough loss. With over 30 disposals recorded in all but one of the last eight matches, his form is certainly notable.
36 disposals, 10 clearances
MAdelaide Crows
July 24, 2021
Laird captured 36 disposals, 10 clearances, six marks, five tackles, a pair of goals and a single goal assist Saturday as Adelaide outran Hawthorn 102-83 at Marvel Stadium.
ANALYSIS
A season-high 22 kicks lifted Laird to his seventh-straight appearance with 30+ touches on Saturday while his 10 clearances fell just one short of matching his best output for the year. The hybrid midfielder / defender also recorded multiple goals for the first time in his career in the win. The 27 year-old continues to prove why he is a fantasy favorite, scoring no less than 115 points in each of his seven showings and 100 points in 10 of his last 11. That finds the AFL's No. 3 in total handballs (311), No. 4 for total disposals (580) and No. 5 five in clearances per game (7.11) now one of only nine league players to have topped 2,000 total points in 2021.
Logs 34 disposals in loss
MAdelaide Crows
July 18, 2021
Laird recorded 34 disposals (15 kicks, 19 handballs) and made eight marks during Sunday's 98-56 loss to West Coast in Round 18.
ANALYSIS
Laird has played consistently with at least 33 disposals made in six straight games, though a tendency to log more handballs than kicks places a limit on his already good numbers. When looking for reliable options, Laird and his Crows teammates are serviceable given their struggles to win games.
Solid production in loss to Lions
MAdelaide Crows
July 3, 2021
Laird amassed 37 disposals, nine clearances, five marks and three tackles Saturday as Adelaide fell to Brisbane 111-59 at Adelaide Oval.
ANALYSIS
Laird topped 30 disposals for a fourth-consecutive showing as the leader in touches for Saturday's match and tied Brisbane's Zac Bailey with a game-high for clearances. The 27 year-old now extends a streak of appearances with at least 115 fantasy points to four and, with a per game average of 108.5 points for the year, continues to battle Sydney's Callum Mills for the title of top fantasy defender in the AFL.
